    So nothing new then, why would 2025 see a change in this?

    beats me.. i can only highlight why people would come.. but i can't tell the delta difference..
    anyway koreans and japanese do like to come hk because they tend to earn much more here than back in japan/korea.. especially the financial sector chaps.. others fields, not so much.

    For Japan, there is warming of relations between China and Japan in recent days. I wouldn't be surprised if some Japaneses were to be individually "invited" under QMAS.

    For Korea, they got lots of tech talents and entertainment industry talents, whom Hong Kong can employ. Maybe, again just speculating, recent events in Korea may persuade them to come here.

    They both possess the skills Hong Kong needs. Both countries have signed double taxation agreements with Hong Kong.

    More importantly, they wouldn't be lonely, unlike some Top Talents.

    So to escape a failed attempt at military law they move to a dictatorship?

    earn more; pay less tax

    South Korea got huge estate duties taxes as well
