    Because it works.

In this case, one particular individual, using 3 different logins has gone on a bit of a rampage. Fixed most of the issues that I could spot.

I find this thread very strange, considering that I've just reviewed a few dozen of the recent ratings given by people to each other and to others and the comments that have been posted.

I think we need to find a new HSBC branch for Slyvester to rant about.

    Absolutely! And it works.

Sunfire, I'm not worked into a fervor. I just can't stand little snots that feel the need to punish others because their opinions don't mesh with their own. These people remind me of Draco Malfoy is their behaviour. Just think they should stand up and act like adults not whiny children that need to hide and be petty.

Yes totally. I can accept criticism, no problem, but when it's unfair criticism, it's a bit like a slap in the face. When you're helping someone out with their move or finding some information for someone who needs it and then some old spoilsport gives you a red dot for mispelling or something really trivial, it's disheartening.

Perhaps we could wear medals and strips when we go to geoexpat events showing the number of red or green dots?

Have always been happy to fix those sort of issues - several abusers have had their ability to rate other members removed, without them know it.

I have received some red ratings for the most ridiculous things... don't people have better things to do with their time?

I figure these come from people don't want a stand-up 'fight'. There is nothing wrong with having contrary views but why hide behind the red rating? What are these people afraid of?

KIA, can you make the ratings non-anonymous?

P.S. Thank you to those who made positive comments. Wish I could thank you personally but I don't know who you are.

It's the lack of the ability to respond to the person leaving the comment, be it negative or positive...I've had a couple of negative comments (for daring to not to be politically correct) which are quite simply abusive. Yet there is no way to respond/question.

I don't have a problem with the rating system as a whole, but it does play somewhat into the hands of hit and run merchants...as the old saying goes..if you have something to say, say it to my face... grrrr

There is already a fair bit of abuse going on - people giving each other ratings and signing them so that they get ratings back.

    Best kept anonymous....

In the last 4 years that we've had this system there have been two or three incidents of abuse. This one is being fixed ...

Come on people share the love. A few of you now have posted you've been slammed for petty crap. Let's give them some positive ratings. Free hugs
