GeoExpat App - IOS Update - April 2015

Shri, thanks for the new iOS app update, looks great, particularly like how the text is scaled to what I want it to be; smaller text in my case, everything looks so much more compact.

I do have an issue with the full screen ad at the beginning. Before the update, the was a 'x' at the top left corner of the ad I could press to dismiss it, but now it's gone. The only way I've found to get pass the ad is to close the app (press the home button) and start it again.

@Proplus - will look at it. Odd though .. we simply throw up the default AdMob ad without any modifications.

Yeah not bad at all. Looks neat and tidy. Good job. Only would love to disable the ads. Since last week, all of the sudden, they're popping up every time.

Tom: Just benchmarking the ads ... should be toned down in a short time (weds / thurs)

I find with the ads at the beginning you need to wait 5 seconds before the cross appears at the top right and you can then skip. That is quite annoying, especially when the ad plays video or sounds. I am sitting on the bus and fire up geoexpat and then suddenly the whole bus hears the ad and I have to fiddle with the volume on my phone to avoid the embarrassment.

Just tested on an iPhone 6+ (iOS 8.1.3), we're able to see the 'X' at the top left corner for the full screen ads. Which iOS version are you running?

I also think the redesign looks great. Much more modern looking. Works fine so far for me.

iOS 8.3. Weirdly the 'x' just appeared in the top left corner again. The previous ad I got was the Lego one and it had the Lego icon in the same corner, so pressing that area went to the ad's webpage.

ProPlus - would appreciate a screenshot if this problem happens again.

I have disabled video ads, so may be that removed the problem (incase this was a video ad from lego).
