Actually strange. Not many CCP or political comments were deleted.

But random discussions and "heated" debates gets removed. Come on.

No offence intended, but this really reminds me of The Seen and the Unseen by Bastiat.

As somebody occasionally affected by minor moderation decisions (guessing non-mainstream views that can’t be argued against get reported more), and online way too often, I’m assuring you with my own eyes that on balance it is for the good, at least in the past, even if in principle I would be against it.

Happy discourse and wisecracks in the new year.

If the problem is that some weak minded user reports far too many comments for bullying, then action should be taken specifically against the user rather than the whole forum.

If the platform is insufficiently sophisticated to enable that, then you know where the buck stops....

We were walking around the Peak recently and I kept commenting whyyyyyy would anyone want to live there?! The commute is awful. Buy a mansion somewhere where there are roads and facilities. Can't say I fancy winning the lottery and living there...

In the excellent book Gweilo, he recounts the temporary time his family lived (in the 60s?) on the Peak in navy accommodation and the fun he had playing around like in Pinewood Battery. I wondered if this housing is still standing actually... there was an old 60's looking complex we passed.

I wish the thread had stayed open a little longer for a bit of fun. Not sure how vaccines could have been brought up -- or at least not for a long while.

I think the mods do an good job and yet actually do let a fair amount of BS go on and on... some threads get very redundant and I'm sure are complete circles. Wouldn't want to have their job.
