Every time I've encountered foreign entities asking for "Notarisation" they've been happy to take a Statutory Declaration, which is legally a much stronger document anyway. Statutory Declarations can be made, for free, at most District Offices.

5.Does your department provide witness of signature service ?
No, we only provide declaration service. The Commissioner for Oaths is not empowered under the Oaths and Declaration Ordinance to witness signature. You may consider attaching the required document as an exhibit to the declaration and declare the signature in the exhibit is true and correct. You should consult the relevant organization on whether the declaration will be accepted.

6.Does your department provide certified true copy service ?
No, we only provide declaration service. The Commissioner for Oaths is not empowered under the Oaths and Declaration Ordinance to certify true copy. They are not in a position to ascertain the authenticity of the original document. You may consider attaching the document as an exhibit to the declaration and declare the exhibit is the true copy of the original document. You should consult the relevant organization on whether the declaration will be accepted.

I got one document notarised in Central last week. $1500 incl disbursements. Rip off for what is really just a person witnessing your signature.
