require suggestion on job in HK

hello Everybody,

i am looking for job in Investment banking/FOREX/ Treasury.

having total 3 years of exp. ( current in an Indian bank in treasury dept.)

however i do not know any chinese language..

please suggest..

first of all thanks for replying so soon..i really wasnt expecting it..

actually i have 2 years of ex. in HR not in trading or IB.. i am new to this field..however have already cleared HKSI securities certification..and working in Treasury right now..

and i am least interested for sales field. i can go for trader trainee..

i am applying everywhere from past 4 months for every grad program or everything else but no good response..

people are offering sales job with not even basic salary..

please suggest what shud i do now..

You are competing against the top graduates from Hong Kong and Mainland China and you have no clue where to start. I would suggest you try getting the job you are looking for back home first and then apply for a transfer. Honestly, you don't stand a chance with a direct application unless you are an outstanding individual and such a person would not be asking advice from us.

i have alreadychanged my career n working in treasury dept. which itself is related to IB..

and getting calls for sales job..

also as everybody is saying i need to make contacts to get in..which i am trying to do here..

i am not looking to be a trader at first..even trainee trader is fine with me..

yes i am in hk n working here for 1 year..

its basically asset liability mgmt..FX/MM deals happen for maintaining liquidity..

i am wanting to further sharpen my skills and want to move to trading side of IB..that is my area of interest..which got me to take treasury job back 1 year..

however on applying to jobs of every level from trainee to analyst..however no response of market has made a bit impatient..

please suggest..

no dear its not about working condition however its about preparing myself for those head hunters..and learning..because young age provides more scope for learning..

yeah..sbi n icici banks are good..i am trying there..hopeing some gd luck there....
