    About salary calculation

A new staff start work on 16/7/18, no pay leave on 23/7/18 to 31/7/18.

    How to calculate the salary of July ? 16/7 - 20/7 (5 days) or 16/7 - 22/7 (7 days) ?

Our working hours: Mon - Fri / 9:00-6:00

    Thank you very much.

We do it this way, in agreement with the employee.

Salary, say 3000. Daily salary = 3000/30 (keep in mind that weekends are 'paid holidays') get a daily rate.

    Unpaid leave days = 2

    Total salary would be 3000 - 200 = 2800
Or if they've worked for 10 calendar days (not business days).

    3000/30 * 10 = 1000

Assuming I've not mucked up, its been a long day and I'm burnt out.

If your company does not have any rule which would infer to deduct salary for all three days if leave taken on Monday or Friday, you would be deducting salary for 7 working days.

Hence say if salary is $10,000/month, salary without any leaves would be (16/31) * 10,000 = 5161.

In case of 7 days leaves, count of working days comes to 9. So (9/31) * 10,000 = 2903

    no absolute answer.
some companies uses the number of working days in the month as well. so e.g. july has 22 non-weekend days or 21 working days.. then your paid period is just 5/22 or 5/21. depends on how the company counts and include public holidays
