Here is the Math and trend behind it.. Waiting for retail industry/commercial landlords/tycoons to whine bitterly and commit mass suicide from new bridge and railway platform..

Mainland Chinese visitors were the driving force that pushed Hong Kong’s tourist arrivals to a record high of 65.1 million last year
Overnight Chinese visitors saw an increase of 7.4 per cent, while Chinese day trippers rose by 20.1 per cent.

Needs a little bit more analysis.... Not everything is B&R (Belt/Bridge & Road/Rail)

If the value of sales increased by only 0.1% does that allow for inflation? If not then the volume must have reduced?

While on the subject of mainland tourists, What the!!!!!

Mainland tourists appear to have discovered a new top attraction in Hong Kong as they shell out hundreds of dollars to wander around the Sha Tin campus of Chinese University.

The students' union has complained that the canteens on campus are a big hit all of a sudden, with another draw appearing to be the university's shuttle buses.
Another company is offering tours of CUHK, the University of Hong Kong and the University of Science and Technology for HK$125 per person. The cost includes a lunch of chicken leg and rice, complete with a premium soya sauce.
