Suid-Afrika alcohol & tobacco ban, why?

I have read an article that says
    Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma aka N.D.Z.
is the driving force behind this, and some of her friends who are involved in not so legal activities benefit from the ban big time.

Is this an accurate description of the reasons behind the ban in RSA?

( aside from what the government says)

The alcohol ban I can see the logic, the cigarette ban not so.

Banning cigarettes when there is a disease of the lungs around...of course you can't see why it would help.

Interestingly, one of the arguments was
that people tend to drink in groups, the same argument was later applied on smokers

Because without covid19 there is no disease of the lungs around and smoking is fine? Clearly not smoking is better but as an emergency anti covid measure? The smokers would have died in a few months anyway surely?

Actually, there are also other sources that cause COPD, especially cooking with wood fire, still quite common in some countries

Yes, at least the tobacco part. The ANC (Anarchy, Corruption, Nepotism) is killing the country. Government has stolen millions of the R500 billion virus relief fund and they will do the same with the IMF loan they received.

Smoking should be banned in public, period... I welcome these measures... Your right to smoke and at my right to clean air... enjoy smoking in your home.

You live in HK. You’ve already revoked your right to clean air [emoji1]

HK air was just one of the straws that broke this camel's back... I abandoned ship in April.
