Is it possible to rent a van from Hong Kong to go to China? I need to visit some wholesalers and buy lots of stuff and it would be super convenient if I could hire a van here to drive to them directly and load up the stuff.
If yes, any recommendations?

They drive on the other side of the road over there which makes it harder. Everybody I have ever spoken to has some service that transfers vehicles at the border, but there may be something else - would probably need special permits.

hmmm... changing car shouldnt be a problem, as long as they are right next to each other so we can load the items into the other van.

There are crews that do deliveries and pick ups from across the border and would be able to drive you there and back, this is not something you could just do yourself. This guy Mr. Yau, 93770769 did some furniture pick up / HK drop off for a friend a couple of years back. Canto only though.
