    The Entrepreneurs Network (TEN)

If you want to hear an interesting speaker who has his company here in HK and has represented major entities like Meguiars in this region, Tom Muldowney is the guy. This is more a learning and interaction opportunity - less than networking and drinking as the bulk of the meeting is the talk and long Q&A's until their audience stops asking stuff.

It is an open event and $100HK to attend and they have had some very interesting speakers (including me) and the Canadian guy who started his shoe company Cipher here in HK. They aren't there to make money as you can see - the entry fee is nothing compared to their efforts to get speakers with real entrepreneurial stories to tell.

I gave this site and ShopinHongKong.com a good plug with my branding and loyalty slide when I was there. It got a good reaction as some of these guys were Geoexpats and shoppers here.

    Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Main Topic: Create Your Own Sales Machine! How to Create a Sales System

Speaker: Mr. Tom Muldowney, Managing Director of International Market Access Ltd. and Vice president of T.E.N.

Getting new customers is the most expensive activity in any enterprise, yet most businesses have no ‘sales system’. Tom will give real world examples of how various sales organizations in Asia have built sales ‘systems’ to replicate a successful sales call that generates a profitable sale on virtually every time. You will gain insights on the on how to sell through international distribution to grow your business extremely rapidly even in global markets outside Hong Kong.

After the presentation, the session will continue as an interactive Q & A format where members and guests are encouraged to share their sales experiences both challenges and successes.

I'd like to see some Geoexpats come out as these guys aren't great at bringing out the crowd. I think you can just turn up but you could email that intent if you like to [email protected]

Eh? Are we talking about Meguiars the very small company that makes car cleaning products in California? A company that employs 115 people in one town is hardly a "major entity"!

I read online that their revenues were some $26.5 million US so that's not too shabby. They got bought out by 3M but I couldn't find a figure for the purchase.

Also Jay Leno is in ads for Meguiars and he must be expensive as he doesn't do many ads.

Komby, I think you just joined the wrong group but there is nothing wrong with Episcopalians although they might not like atheist buses. Once you've seen the light, kombuchakid try here: TEN

Will I see you there PDLM?? Komby can update us on the Epicopalians who in Canada seem to be fighting themselves a lot these days over their stands on homosexuals. At least they are not in the news like the Catholics who have been plagued there with cover ups of priestly sinning.

Wow, those clowns never learn do they!!! As soon as they ban a book or decry a movie, it increases the demand. Now do you these crafty entrepreneurs join these organizations to write stuff like that and help sales of the movies? Maybe because reading this stuff sure makes you wonder sometimes.

Don't forget to come to TEN meeting Thursday night, komby et al.

You see unbridled enthusiasm is frowned upon at this site
All displays of raw emotion [including ribald emoticons] are best kept in check until one is in the confines of ones bedroom.
