effect of road closures on navigation websites?

    Hi,

I've actually been out of HK since Occupy started; my question pertains to the road closures and whether Google Maps etc can still be relied on for the affected areas. For example, I'm told that you can't drive up Cotton Tree Drive from HK Station, but Google Maps still says that's the recommended path. Any thoughts?

I would not trust Google Maps' traffic data. But on the Transport Department site, it says:

Cotton Tree Drive between Queensway and Harcourt Road
Could others working near the area confirm?

Just wondering, is there any GPS with current traffic information?

I saw that on Tolo Highway they have some signs with traffic information, I wonder if that's fed into the GPS systems. And if not, why not?

Have you looked at Waze ? Friends really like it and use it a lot for traffic.
