The Chief Secretary has promised to relay the hopes of pan-democrats for more talks with officials in Beijing on political reform.
Carrie Lam made the pledge during a meeting this morning with lawmaker Frederick Fung, from the Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood.
Speaking afterwards, Mr Fung said the current deadlock on reform was caused by the restrictive framework handed down by Beijing last August, and was beyond the control of Hong Kong officials.
He said unless this changed, he would veto the government's electoral reform package.
