    Note:
Oscar Lai, as a student, endorsed Alvin Yeung because he had gotten to know him in his capacity as a volunteer lawyer. He said Alvin was tireless, available at all hours for those arrested during the Umbrella Movement. Even with the recent Mong Kok incident, it was Alvin who defended Derek Lam in court and who deliberately kept a low profile so as not to affect the public's perception of Derek's case.

Oscar also mentioned that there are some members within Scholarism that very much support Edward Leung & he respects their choice. In addition, whether it's the Civic Party or Hong Kong Indigenous, he has points of difference with both.

(Alvin Yeung, Joshua Wong, Nathan Law & Alex Chow)

Lester Shum also endorsed Alvin Yeung & gave a speech at his rally. Lester first met Alvin at the police station on Sept 28, 2014. He had been in custody for over 30 hours (after rushing into Civic Square & occupying it overnight), couldn't get bail, had had his home searched & was coming down with fever - and having Alvin come to see him was reassuring. He also states that prior to Occupy, the team of volunteer lawyers was pretty small, then grew as the Umbrella Movement unfolded and then shrank towards the end as some lawyers did not agree with the protesters' methods. However, Alvin was one of the lawyers who remained at the core.
