Prosecution (P): If an action could be taken to right an injustice, yet it may be against the law, would you still do it ?

Joshua Wong (W): I would. I also think entering Civic Square was legal.

    P: Since we're talking peace & non-violence, why think there's a risk of arrest ?

W: Nowadays, even non-violent actions have a risk of arrest.
    ***********

P: You indicated to the crowd that there would be risk of arrest, you immediately knew that they would be blocked and that violence would be involved ?

Nathan Law (L): Being arrested doesn't automatically mean violence is involved. I've experienced sitting still in one spot and then being carried away and arrested.

P: How do you see the addition of the fence around Civic Square ? Couldn't it be for public security reasons ?

L: The fence symbolizes the blocking of free expression. It represents the regime's greater restrictions on freedom of speech.

Joshua Wong was 25 minutes late to court yesterday due to traffic. He immediately apologized to the magistrate, who admonished him. Joshua also apologized online. He states there won't be a next time.

The prosecution pointed out to Nathan Law that telling people to surround government headquarters is inciting citizens to unlawful assembly. Law replied, "That's up to the court to decide.". The prosecution also pointed out to Law that on stage he told the crowd not to actively attack - and did that mean they could passively attack. Law replied, "I'm sorry, but could you explain what is a passive attack ?".
