Junius Ho's call to kill 'may be unlawful' - RTHK
Is Junius not guilty of incitement or worse with this outburst? Kind of struggle to believe that this nutter who wants to kill secessionists and hates homosexuals was once Chairman of the Bar Association!
Junius Ho is clearly a twat of biblical proportions. He makes a vicious attack on Benny Tai and his livelihood (and by extension on the well-being of Mr. Tai's family) and then he publicly advocates the murder of people who's thoughts he does not like. It's a very good job Mr. Ho isn't attempting to cross swords with someone as unpleasant as me.
Lo and effing behold:
Now just imagine if Benny Tai/Joshua Wong/etc. had said a similar thing. The Secretary for Justice, Rimsky Yuen said on Monday whether Ho's remarks were criminal depends on the overall meaning and background of the comments. Yuen said people can't just focus on one or two words.
HKFP: Pro-Beijing legislator Junius Ho’s call for death of independence activists may have broken law
Some quotes:
pro-independence activists should be “killed” with Ho shouting “without mercy”“not big deal to kill pigs or dogs.”“If those who are pro-independence lead to the subversion of the fate of the country; with Hong Kong and the 1.3 billion people in the motherland having to pay a huge price, why shouldn’t these people be killed?”“It’s too ironic, someone who has no moral standards, criticising me for crossing the line of moral decency.”“If we’re talking about Hong Kong independence, that means war. What’s wrong with killing enemies in a war?”
Reactions:
HK administration (comrade Stalinsky): "a criminal offence would depend on the overall meaning and background, rather than individual words. He stressed again that Hong Kong independence was illegal and unconstitutional." More bauhinia-emblazoned cuckoo clocks and well-paid honourary positions are required for genuine CCP-loving patriots.
HK business community: No comment. Standing by the regime and staying quiet has worked in the past. They don't usually kill collaborators.
International media: TBD
International community: TBD
CCP: It's PRC's internal matter so stay out of it or else!
The most important comment on this should be the one that comes from his bar association. Will they stand by him or not? I feel that will be a predictor of how they are lining up their ducks.
