    Hullexile update

Having talked about my retirement to the Philippines I thought I would do an update.

The photo is of the Hullexile residence. 2000 sq ft, 3/4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens. 500k HKD.

    Small businesses up and running:
    - apartment for rent
    - two small stores
    - people carrier we hire out
    - money lending.

Don't bring in a fortune but nice supplement to the pension.

Looks nice! 2 kitchens - inside and outside? Outside meaning in a secondary structure separate from the main house?

    Looking good.
I am also considering retirement there.
Are you near any large towns, or do you need a car for transport?

Clean and dirty kitchens as per Filipino custom. The dirty kitchen is still within the house building but through a door and with screen rather than glass windows,

Near cities so I could live without but it would be a hassle unlike HK.

If you are retiring here and without a Filipina wife then they do a retirement visa which might be of interest.

Not too bad, we only lend to people known to us or our runner ( they arrange the loan and collect the money) and with known income. Only small amounts 400 HKD is the smallest and 3000 HKD the largest at the moment. 10% per month interest and the runner gets 3% of the loan amount. The interest is non reducible i.e. the 10% is always on the original loan amount however much is paid off. We are still undercutting the normal here which is 20% per month. Not big money but no effort involved.

2000 sq feet? One wonders how much that same house would cost in HK...
