    Retiring in HK, Visa?

Hi there, interesting question: is it possible for my parents (both Germans) to live their retirement time in HK?
Both are getting nice pensions which would also be paid when living abroad, but what about staying in HK without working - is there a retirement visa or such possibility?
Or do they need to depend on a working visa etc?

You can sponsor your parents if you are a permanent resident. Your registration date hints that you are or are close to getting PR.

his/her parents aged 60 or above.

Know quite a few who have done this for their parents.

The most sincere from of gratitude would be some good stollen ... They can bring it with them when their visa is approved around Christmas.

That is, as the name indicates, from a different country.

On eligability, I don't see much in the way of having to show finances to be able to support them. Really this easy?

Standard dependent visa requirements - place for them to stay + your own savings and income to support one or two additional dependents.

Some more info in the applying section.

On a more serious note, this is a big decision and I have said it before, the PR thing can be revoked if big politics decides so. I was surprised that after COVID HK Immi renewed the HKID for non Chinese who have been away for more than three years.
