When the CCP reinterprets the anti-mask law to overrule the High court, yep, that should do it.

The mask law should end in the appeals court. Once the govt runs out of appeals that's it. No interpretation. Period

My experience is that censorship works, especially if it is done well.
When its done REALLY well, it's called "moderation". For a reason.

HAHAHAHA the person who voted for "When "all the radicals" are arrested" must be really hopeful.

The other solution is for Beijing to give Hong Kong full autonomy so they can decide over their own affairs. That would be the best case scenario, but I do not see that happening.

The worst case scenario is that China just ignores Hong Kong and the police is not able to restore control. Then Hong Kong will be destroyed.
Options 1 and 3 that you listed both lead to HK being destroyed.

The current unrest is caused by excessive government control; doubling down on that will only make matters worse.

I think it will ease up fairly soon, but with the odd flair up every few years. The number of rioters will dwindle and the protagonists will be easier to round up.

Resistance is futile, at least in this neck of the woods.

Introducing fair elections, universal suffrage and top down reform of the government so that it's structured in such a way that all government bodies are accountable to the people are the necessary and sufficient conditions to end all this.

When I made my choice, I felt depressed but it was the realistic choice.

When I saw the results, I was even more depressed because it seems that my choice is also the reality.

The main reason - people's trust in institutions such as the police, the government, and traditional media has gone, and is unlikely to return.
