The art depicts medical workers drawing lots and risking death.
As comparison, I’m guessing constables are paid more than nurses. Those 3 Customs officers who were in the overturned boat and died match the number of cops who died in the line of duty in the past one or two decades (and I think two of those was one shooting the other).

"Police fire tear gas as crowds gather in Mong Kok Police fired several cannisters of tear gas late on Saturday night as people took to the streets of Mong Kok on the first day of the Year of the Rat."

And in typical police fashion within 15 mins of dumping TG on innocent ppl, they fucked off back to the station with a couple of arrests (bonuses for the day).
When you can shoot ppl at random, run ppl over on motor bikes, run hell for leather through a train beating ppl with batons & pepper spray or just plain old stomping on heads and receive no punishment what so ever, then brutality will become the normal as we can clearly see with TG, there is no logical reason to just throw or shoot it and walk away not giving a fuck about where it went or the horrible consequences it brings to Innocents.

Well that’s new. Apart from 8th June, 15th June, and 18th August (permitted rally, disallowed march), the police insisted on clearing the roads.

That sounds like mission accomplished for residents then!

More seriously how does the government expect residents to welcome a quarantine centre next door with open arms when they've been doing NOTHING to prevent the spread of the virus in the past 2 weeks.

If only there were some places like barracks with large number of small housing units away from the population that could quickly be turned into emergency infirmaries...

edit: Naturally the security of the CCP must override all other considerations.

Yes, whatever else happens, always keep the press out to build public confidence.
