I was at Fusion Sheung Wan today at lunchtime. Was busy, really long line, but nobody using the self service checkout. Was only there to buy bread, which they had a decent supply of.
Might it not have been the pro-establishment people themselves trying to justify not closing the border and conflating the restriction of the free movement of people with that of the free movement of goods that sparked or exacerbated this thinking?
Anyway, not sure how much clarifications from the government help anymore. Minimal credibility along with their legitimacy, and perpetually leading from behind.
