Like I said, I get why this has been shared as it’s been suggested this is related to Covid-19, but it’s come from social media with no confirmation. It adds to the hysteria and panic which doesn’t need any more fuel to the fire.

Social media and false reporting is making this so much worse. I’m not belittling the illness, but there needs to be some perspective. Not every post or headline is true.

    Rant over.
There doesn't seem to be proof either way. I've reverse searched, no trace of it from months ago, nobody saying it is older has a link to prove it is either. Lets say juries out on that one.

Either way it matters not, the message about smoking and COVID19 remains valid, and if you're that bothered, use this video as your instructional moment for the day. Non rant over

My reply should have clarified my issue was with the Twitter post, not your re-posting on here. I completely understand why you posted it.

Social media will never be regulated and will continue to allow information to be perceived on a judgement basis only.

    Jakarta 30 degrees
    Manila 34 degrees
    Bangkok 33 degrees

Our invisible enemy doesn't seem to mind the heat too much.

Incredibly turbulent time for the aviation sector at the moment. Qantas stood down 2/3rds of their 30,000 staff today.

It’s going to be a very rough ride!

    Yes... and no.

    - Horizontal axis is the temperature; warmer countries are to the right
    - vertical axis is the number of cases per million inhabitants; countries with relatively more cases are higher
    - the size of the bubble indicates the "death rate". Until recently there were almost no big bubbles to the right, but unfortunately the Philippines look pretty bad right now.

Still, so far, it still looks to me that the warmer the temperature, the fewer cases. Tentatively. Maybe.

That graph goes to show why decent data visualisers should be paid more.

Meanwhile in twitterland, Jack finally discovers that scientific facts are important.

Just wondering, on March 12th Premier Li Keqiang reiterated that the Canton Fair will take place. It's suppose to start on April 15th. That probably means that foreign visitors should arrive 2 weeks early for the mandatory 14 days quarantine. Or how do they plan to pull that through?

They’ll allow everyone to dial-in to iPads propped up by mobile robots, provided you download the app to study Xi Jinping thought first.
