If you don't test you have no cases. Testing is expensive, mass testing obviously more so and the test kits just weren't available anyway. If the USA doesn't have enough what chance a "shithole" country as Trump called them.

A soccer player has tested positive in the Chinese province of Jinan.

What odds China still report 0 cases tomorrow?

A shitload of other countries follow a similar type of reporting and are even more restrictive in their count.

Even the Global Times reports on your non-secret.

The Wuhan government also said that the allegation saying the Hanjiatun community had new cases on March 20 is wrong. A resident surnamed Zhang from the community was asymptomatic, which means he could not be categorized as a confirmed case based on the standard issued by the National Health Commission.

Great, now that we have finally established with you that China's number are structurally false, here is your next eye opener.

But according to the doctor, from around the time of Xi's visit, even though his patients still exhibited signs of pneumonia, the patients were released from quarantine at the discretion of a "specialist" from the epidemic prevention and control authority.

From then on, the criteria for discharging patients became loose, and "a mass release of infected patients began," he said.

Also, patient interviews with those exhibiting symptoms such as fever were simplified, and blood tests to detect antibodies produced during infection were discontinued. As a result, "suspected patients were released back into society," he said.

Chinese numbers are still (supposed to be) very much comparable with those from France, UK, US etc... I.e. hospitalised (and therefore very symptomatic) people who are the only ones currently being tested.

Only structural false in a black and white world. I prefer to stick to scientific discussion. There is an epidemiological standpoint and then there's a medical standpoint. Both make sense.

We shall soon see about the Wuhan story. If it's true then there will be another outbreak in Wuhan within a short time. If not, then maybe you should stop posting random Kyodo news stories about random Wuhan doctors. Considering Xi's visit was 12 days ago it's good to be skeptical of such a story.

But shouldn't there be news about hundreds or thousands of people die?

Not yet, they are just behind.

The weekly numbers for deaths outside China went
    1, 1, 1, 5, 23, 96, 400, 1600, 5000

Sub Saharan Africa is about 5 weeks behind Europe.
