The choice of affordable dining/shopping has got reduced in the past "growth" years, and many HK classics are hard to find...

I am hoping that with the recession, less tourism, prices of rent and cost of living will drop and will allow us to have a better quality of life.

    Am I being naive?

@Fenix2 - In a word, YES!! You have got more chance of getting a whale up your arse than expecting HK landlords to drop the rents!

I think rents are coming down, for sure. But to access them it's likely necessary to change flat. Face saving culture means that a landlord significantly dropping rent for a current tenant is highly unlikely.
