I wonder if this applies to expat permanent residents too?

Doubt it, since we already got a place to leave to.

Kudos to Australia for coming up with concrete measures swiftly and decisively. They are showing up everyone except maybe the UK. US, Canada and NZ are talking the talk but not much yet in terms of concrete measures apart from Canada suspending extradition.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. The title promises more than the description. I looked into relocating to Aussie, they offered a PR on landing! Plus cash allowances to buy property. Still wasn’t interested.

Australia should offer a PR on landing for any HKPR or HK passport holder if they want their statement to mean anything. US is only offering asylum which is stupid. Singapore Amos Yee went to US for asylum, he spent 18 months in jail in Chicago until it was awarded to him.

Maybe the Scandinavian countries should join the bandwagon and offer something to HKers.

This is quite a strongly worded warning. Given how Beijing reacted to UK’s quite mild offer to BNO passport holders I am interested to see how they respond to this!

I'll be interested to know just how "many" will take up that offer...
