US Lawyer Case: 4 months + 2 weeks

    https://twitter.com/AdamYoungHK/stat...21682282373121

Samuel Bickett, 37, was given a term of four months and two weeks on Tuesday on one charge of assaulting a police officer. The former Asia-Pacific compliance director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch was found guilty last month and denied bail.

Magistrate Arthur Lam described Bickett’s crime as a “serious threat to public order,” saying the policeman suffered multiple injuries. Lam said the two weeks were added to the sentence because the assault occurred in a crowded area and Bickett’s actions may have incited others to violence.

Taken into a van and thrown around for a little bit for sure.

But can of worms... and all depends on what you're trying to prove or disprove or allege or not or the color of your underwear or skin or hair..

Argh... that man appears quite threatening in public and a bit mad. Without knowing he's police, it's simply just very American to try to act and protect others/the public -- there, they have actual terrorists with guns, so acting to stand up to someone is quite normal... And the police officer deceived people, too... There's just so many things wrong with this... the popo don't take it as a moment to reflect on the behavior of their force to improve and instead lock up someone just trying to help what seems like an alarming situation.

Oh well, summer 2022 I'm waiting for you!

Every court decision in HK now has to consider the livelihood and desires of 1.4 billion Chinese people and national interest so this outcome is par for the course. 'Common sense', 'logic', 'being a good samaritan', 'rule of law', 'basic decency', 'judicial objectivity', 'reasonable expectation', 'reasonable understanding', 'doing the right thing', 'video evidence', 'police lied', 'police failed to follow proper procedure', all of these things do not matter anymore.

Since when is it normal to get into a physical altercation with a threatening stranger in America? The fact that people have guns actually makes a rational person LESS likely to confront.

The sentence in this case is absurd but didn’t the HK police charge a woman for attacking them with her breasts some years ago? Same old same old.

The “victim” in that other case may have been in uniform and not denied being police before being restrained/“assaulted”?
