Asia’s World City banner now looks pretty sad at an empty airport.
The HK government has no say when it can re-open. It depends on Beijing, which right now is focused on ensuring the 20th party congress and Winter Olympics goes off without a hitch. That means Beijing will not order any relaxation of quarantine on HK until after both events.
Singapore is getting nearly 4,000 daily cases after opening. This cost is too high for us.

Even is 90% is fully vaccinated (which will never happen) you will get the same as Singapore once you open up.
There are 2 or 3 daily deaths of vaccinated people, almost all older people with underlying conditions.
I really despair at how many people are seeing Singapore's experience as a validation for keeping HK locked down for another year.
