    Some highlights...

    • Wish you all the best of health for the new year..

    • Facilities are being inspected / prepared for the 5th wave.

    • CE of HK has invited CX Chairman and CEO and conveyed her concern and strong dissatisfaction about how the "rule" has been "flouted" by their staff being irresponsible... Demanded that CX give the public a satisfactory explanation. Quarantine will be tightened. 7 day quarantine + negative PCR result from tomorrow (1/1/22). At the same time, air cargo needs to flow normally!

    • Plan to impose requirement by CNY - min 1 dose of vaccine for eating out, cinemas, beauty parlours, gyms and govt venues. Staff have to complete vaccination by the designated date.

    • 40K tests being conducted every day. 20K have received notices through leave home safe. At a record high.

    • 1/1/22 - Vaccine Program to be expanded - extended opening hours.

    • As usual too much time being wasted on word vomit and begging people. ...

    • 2/1/2022 - Asia World facility will be activated - upto 500 beds in phase 1.

    • 19 confirmed cases (17 imported, 6 US - 2 detected on arrival and 4 in Pennys Bay). 16 preliminary positive. UK 1 case detected on second day test. 5 FDHs. Canada 2 at Airport and 1 in quarantine.

    • Construction worker has been all over the place. Does scaffolding work... and seemed to have a positive review of the Spiderman movie.

    • Preliminary Case - Airport worker - collects boarding passes and helps passengers out. Tested regularly - last test was on 28th. Tested positive on 30th.. "prelim positive" - omicron strain. Been to some F&B, home, airport ... family & friends.

Very likely the 65+ years old will be exempted from that new vaccination requirement to eat out etc…

No need since doctors seem very inclined to hand out vaccine ineligibility certificates or whatever they are called.

The devil is in the detail, large portion of that demographics hardly go to one of those listed places anyway (haven't checked full list), their life runs between public estate and wet market so the real issue is execution not the mandate, rice bags and buses are much simpler solution..

Rice bags and busses are their 'vote for us' bribe, they won't sully that association with the "you're a superstitious old twonk and need to be jabbed like cattle" sentiment they're finally implementing.
