Will extending jabs to younger Hong Kong children allow city to live with Covid-19?

    https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/...extending-jabs

"The current fatality rate of the pandemic is around 2 to 3 per cent …"

Again, more scaremongering. This stat is for the period before we had vaccines. Covid 19 mortality is now largely preventable.

Also, notice how they are putting the responsibility on the innocent - children - people who don't die from Covid but who bear the brunt of the consequences from the insane zero covid policy, and who have no agency in this matter themselves.

Ah. But there's the rub. Children can be forced to be vaccinated. The selfish/ignorant elderly population for whom we are all sacrificing normality, cannot.

The fatality rate has never been 2-3% across a diversified population, neither now, nor prior to vaccines.

Around 1/10th of that is closer to the truth.

hmmmm unlike you to be incorrect Sage

1 percent for a couple of high profile countries with a diversified population, but don’t let facts get in the way of your 2 year fruitless crusade

infected Hong Kong pet shop worker may have ‘caught Covid-19 from imported hamsters in city’s first animal-to-human transmission’
    Called it.

Not going into the discussions of how probable/improbable this is (less educated on the topic than most of you), but as always, irrespective of that, what does it mean for the sustainability of zero Covid. Do we need to vaccinate or cull these disease carriers too?

I think they killed the pet that had some covid / caught covid from its owner last year. Cannot be bothered to look it up ... Hopefully the carcass is destroyed properly and does not end up as someone lunch - which is apparently what caused covid in the first place.

BUT - it is a big "MAY"

In Taiwan, they soak you down (and your luggage) with alcohol, including the bottom of your shoes, before you can get into the quarantine taxi...

Which, you know, does a lot for an airborne virus coming out of your mouth and nose...
