Highlights
- 105 Cases involving 3 blocks in Kwai Chung. Source is the lady at Silka who infected family members, one of whom went to the refuse room, came into contact with a cleaner which started the outbreak. Confirmed as Omicron. First case was found on 20th Jan. 20 on 21st Jan and today 105 cases.
- 40+ cleaners involved in this estate and being sent to holiday camp. Will be dealt with humanely.
- Further measures:
(This is all over the place - they really do need to hire someone to structure the press conferences)
- Ying Kwai / Yat Kwai House - 5 day RTD.
- Ying Kwai - Difficult to arrange dinner / meal boxes tonight. 3 meals a day to be provided
- More "1 day" RTDs in a number of other blocks (may be extended)
- Rest of the blocks will be under CTN (repeated tests, not locked down)
- Kwai Chung Estate testing to be boosted to collect 30K specimens a day
Will continue to listen in .. but I don't think anything else is going to be announced - especially in terms of quarantine, social distancing, beaches or birthday parties.
