I wonder how that feature would have worked... i.e. it uploads each check-in as they happen, or the accumulated "queue" is periodically sent during a scheduled data dump.

- and if the latter, whether it means that by defaulting to "ON", we have unwittingly already uploaded everything in cache before we managed to turn it off. This would be extremely cunning indeed.

Just enabling the Health Code system in the app does nothing. You must register for a health-code account, activate it, log in through the LHS app and then press a button to upload your travel history from LHS to the health code system.
