They're all crazy - the ones waving the British Hong Kong flag and those like Sum Chan. Give me someone like Long Hair for a bit of common sense and normality.

My understanding is that the separatists are waving the HK colonial flag, and advocating an independent Hong Kong. They are not advocating membership in the UK or Commonwealth.
Am I correct in this? If so, why is she ripping up a UK flag. Does she believe that the separatists are incited by UK clandestine services? That's doesn't seem realistic to me.
From my extremely limited understanding of the situation these kids have no idea what they are doing. Seems a consequence of the local school system and being brought up as spoiled brats or by chimpanzee parents (I've only spoken to a hand full of them and that was my impression).
Nothing better than information direct from the source!
We could assume that these kids have the spirit of public service and political dissent without a real cause to apply it to.... That's healthy... Let's hope they mature into adults that know how to apply that spirit productively.
If only governments would put much more emphasis on education, and much less on chest pounding and defence spending.
