An annual WIN/Gallup international survey asked more than 65,000 people worldwide which country they considered the "greatest thread to peace."
The top four:
24% U.S.
8% Pakistan

I find it interesting how
- Indians are happy people
- Young Indians believe India is a threat to world peace, WTF?
- Americans actually think Iran is the biggest threat when Iran practically stopped a US invasion last year.
- Canadian and Australians are knowledgeable about the US as I predicted.
- China doesn't see Israel as a threat to peace. Wow. They must not be aware Israel prime minister literally penetrated into the US media for days to convince for war.
- Japan finds female politician do a worse job than male.

If you live in a country where all media is dominated by state owned censored media, censored internet access, and a one party system that dominates all aspects of your life, including the books you are allowed to read and subjects taught in school.....what is the point of a survey? If the government is successful, are you not getting the government's opinion? Would a survey on anything work in North Korea? Why is China any different?
You make a pretty valid point. Your argument could for example explain the vehemence many Chinese direct towards Japan (one-sided nationalist education). However, judging by the mainlanders I spoke to, I think a fair number of them are smarter than foreigners give them credit for. Alot of them are well-aware of the censorship and the slanted views of CCTV and People's Daily. Some of them are in fact quite cynical about it all. So perhaps they are giving answers to surveys to what they think is the correct answer, rather than what they really think deep down.
Rather than just revealing Mainlanders are ignorant of the world because of censorship, it also may indicate them not giving a very truthful answer.

It was an international survey, Not a Chinese survey.
