Well, it's not what it could be but what it is... 9.69 second race and 25 minutes of chest thumping and ego dancing...
Still 3 gold medal and 2 world record isn't too shabby... but 8 gold and 7 world record is the end result...

Maybe Bolt could try the 20km race walk next time or rythmic gymnastic

    I think Bolt's 100 included the 10m Boogaloo...

Not his fault there's only one style of running.
    True but there is:
    1. 100 M
    2. 110 M hurdles
    3. 4 x 100
    4. 200 M
    5. 400 M
    6. 400 M hurdles
    7. 4x400 m

That is at least 7 races (Ok phelps got 8) he could enter...

True, but the 100 metre sprint and the 20km walk (or 400 metre hurdles even) don't have quite as much in common as the 100 metre breaststroke and the 100 metre butterfly.

I don't think anyone else smashed world records in such a freakishly easy and stylish way as Bolt. The man pranced the last 20 metres and still broke the record with time to spare.

Some golds are definitely easier to obtain than others. Think about Lionel Messi - Argentina had to play 6 matches for over 9 hours to get gold, as opposed to swimming/running 100 metres.

Hurdles and sprints don't cross over like that. However, 100m runners sometimes come up good in the long jump.

Another american is a sports legend and as deserving as any of fame...Eric Heiden...5 individual gold medals from 500m-10000m in speed skating, outstanding cyclist who participated in the Tour de France back when the US riders had training wheels and now orthopedic surgeon.

That's what I call a pretty good role model... As for Bolt well... he can run fast for about 20 seconds.

Replace the 110M hurdles by the long jump if you prefer....the reality is that Bolt could have joined more events if he wanted/was able to...

As for comparing Phelps to Bolt or any other athletes competing in different disciplines it is rather irrelvant...
