How does a country that only disrespects host nations and diplomatic customs expect anyone to respect it and its claims?

EDIT: sorry a bit late in the game...

It just makes you wonder, what is their end goal? You don’t need to piss other countries off in such a way if you just need sth for your domestic audience (especially if you control the media and can write sth anti-France every single day).
Are they trying to provoke other countries to throw out their ambassador? Cut diplomatic ties? Are they looking for an excuse to start a war?
I really don’t get it, their actions go far beyond doing it for nationalistic sentiment of their own people.

If this was worded as quoted here, it's terrible messaging and plays straight into the hands of the 'they want to keep us down' crowd

Biden says China won't surpass U.S. as global leader on his watch

“China has an overall goal ... to become the leading country in the world, the wealthiest country in the world, and the most powerful country in the world,” he told reporters at the White House. “That’s not going to happen on my watch because the United States is going to continue to grow.”
Gotta remember you’re dealing with the SCMP here.

Well, its not like China has been truly hiding its intentions either. Xi has discarded Deng's "hide your strength and bide your time" approach to foreign relations. All countries now believe China is aiming for the top and replacing the US, even if Beijing denies this officially. So yeah, the official CCP mouthpiece will say they aren't aiming to take over from the US as the top dog in the world. But Beijing's actions say otherwise. Its like a naughty kid denying they are stealing when they already got one hand in the cookie jar.

So at the end of the day, both US and China are laying their cards on the table.

NASA lets net users sign up to send their name to Mars on a future flight. Taiwan appears as an option on a “country” drop-down box.
