3 electric vehicles have spontaneously exploded in China this week

At Least Three Electric Vehicles Have Spontaneously Exploded in China This Week
A parked SUV made by leading vehicle and battery manufacturer BYD caught fire in Wuhan city Wednesday, the local firefighting department confirmed.
The incident comes just days after reports surfaced of cars made by Tesla and Nio suddenly catching fire.
The company also uploaded photos of the vehicle after the fire was contained, to show that the car’s battery was still intact.

Are petroleum companies hiring thugs to set fire to electric vehicles to protect their dying industry? They will be out of business in 10-20 years just like Kodak and Fuji's sudden death 20 years ago, so I guess they have to try something to stay in business?

Might want to consider the explosive characteristics of lithium.

Couple that with manufacturing defects and shipping damage...

Electric cars are hardly putting the petroleum industry in any danger. Their biggest threat is running out of it not people stopping to use it. Did they blow up trams and trains? Electric cars are and will remain a tiny share of the automotive market for a long time.
