It will be niche products that the US needs and China dominates supply and are not easily transferable such as rare earth metals or scrap imports. Foreign owned branded products made in China.

I think our government in Australia, has banned Huawei from some telecommunications stuff, too. Government and private sector, Vodafone for example, cancelled its sizable 5G network equipment deal with Huawei.

Understandable, considering how close our ties are with the US.

But risky given how important China is as a buyer of Aussie goods/resources.

I personally think its time for China to just own the fact that the US depends on it as much as they do the other way around.

If the other party is holding the cards - take them away. Add a 25% export charge on ALL exports to the US. If the US wants to add another 25%, that's their problem.

In the mean time, let the Chinese consumers import freely - whatever they want and need. Let them export freely and cheaply to other countries.
