I bet they have more fakes in Hainan - not that it will save the HK "tourism industry". This price arbitrage was never ment to last.

its not just about price that brought mainlanders to HK, it was also the trust that the products they bought was REAL in HK.

Mainlanders were always scared that if they buy such an expensive thing in China it could still be FAKE.

While we see photos of parked airplanes, we rarely see parked tourist bus fleets...

yes that's typical HK, all these conglomerates completely refused to negotiate the rent down with the events, leaving brands unable to pay. Some of the brands will not come back to HK.
And you only hear about the famous brands, there are 10 times more who left their office space in premium areas.

Hmmm looks like there'll be a glut of cheap used coach bus's for export in the near future. I've always wanted to fit out a coach as a luxury motorhome to travel around Australia in.. Might keep an eye on this when I can fly again and visit my youngest sister who lives in Discovery Bay pending the COVID quarantine restrictions.

Bear in mind with countries warning about arbitrary arrest in HK, international tourists might not return in troves even when the pandemic is over. To say the outlook for the HK tourism industry is grim would be an understatement.

    Unused tourist buses

Looks like a Disco Bay Golf Cart costs more than a Hong Kong Tourist bus........
