According to videos and photos widely circulated on Chinese social media platforms, workers were seen removing the Chinese characters of “Hupan University” carved at the university’s landmark stone placard in Hangzhou city, the capital of Zhejiang province.

The name of the university on several social media platforms, including the official account of its Weibo account which has about 100,000 followers, has been changed to “Hupan Innovation and Research Center.” The name of its official Wechat account remained unchanged as of 10:00 am Monday.

Alibaba Group founder Jack Ma Yun has been spotted in Hong Kong – almost a year after regulators pulled the plug on Ant Group’s initial public offering.

Two highly-placed sources told The Standard that they saw Ma in the city on October 1, months after he laid low in the mainland away from public limelight.

While Ma has appeared in several mainland events since the beginning of this year, it was the first confirmation that he came to Hong Kong amid rumors that he was banned from leaving the country.

Seems like he has been released from whatever restrictions were rumored and went to Spain last week.

According to an exclusive report in the current issue of East Week, during his recent appearance in Hong Kong, Jack Ma successfully left the country and met with a number of Hong Kong tycoons, playing both golf and beer, and he also flew to Spain for a vacation on a night flight in the early hours of last Saturday.

According to sources who understand Ma's itinerary told the newspaper that Ma is on an overseas business trip after his recent trip to Hong Kong to handle his personal affairs, mainly to investigate agricultural and environmental technology, and he is recently interested in how to promote the development of China's agriculture with technology.
