This seems to be a major escalation by the PRC following another speaker of the house visiting Taiwan.

The US has an executive led form of government and the speaker does not represent the executive branch. They are really just a legislator.

Name one positive to come out of a Pelosi visit to Taiwan because I’m struggling with it. I just don’t understand the need for brinkmanship. Of far more use would be discussions around the science related to Covid treatment which could be achieved without the need to discuss the origins of the virus.

Call me an old wuss but I was out for dinner yesterday evening with loads of ex work colleagues at a company I left 25 years ago. Most of us have children some younger than others. All of us spectacularly failed to explain the rationale for the current fun and games
