I feel this racial/ethnic thing to be at a high now everywhere, somehow the discrimination laws helped legal rights but pushed everything else to the worst level.

China, the world’s second-largest economy, announced without explanation on Monday that it was delaying indefinitely the release of economic data that had been scheduled for Tuesday morning, including closely watched numbers for economic growth from July through September, which had been expected to show continued lackluster performance.

The delay by China’s National Bureau of Statistics comes as the country’s ruling elite has gathered in Beijing for a weeklong, twice-a-decade national congress of the Communist Party. The authorities have taken elaborate measures to prevent any disruptions during the gathering, from halting almost all travel into Beijing to requiring frequent Covid-19 tests across practically the entire country.

It is good to see the Western world is paying close attention to the Communist Party Congress and waking up to the fact that China is a communist dictatorship. For too long, they have pretended it wasn't the case, unbothered by the suffering of ethnic minorities and political dissidents in that country.

I am giving a pass to the Western world on this tho.. for too long they have been the only ones paying attn and bringing it to other ppl's attn. I expected and still disheartened to see even armed with modern phones and access to the world that the chinese local are more reluctant than ever to speak up. Maybe it's time for that "china has 1 billion ppl, all we need to do is [ ] and the whole world will..
" talk to mean something more than just words... China has enough HR to handle its own problems...and also help HK ... :p

I didn't think I'd wake up today and say this but ..as much as I'm against govt hiding facts..
in this particular case, I fully agree with Xi's decision..
