Much respect to the brave people wanting the voiceless to be heard. Not an optimist regarding the result of eggs meeting a solid wall, but remarkable nonetheless.

The stubborn nature of chinese mentality would mean the gov will press even harder on lockdowns after the protests.

    Incase it matters...

The University of Hong Kong on Sunday night filed a report to the police after several mainland students held signs and handed out flyers during a vigil held for the victims of the Urumqi fire.

    ...

Responding to media inquiry, a university spokesman said the university decided to call for police assistance after persons involved in the incident failed to identify themselves as students, nor did they specify the reason for their actions.

Police officers who responded to the scene confirmed their identities as students, while the students later left the scene on their own account, the spokesman added.

Xi is the most powerful man in the world (it's not Biden, LOL!). With an army of almost 3 million active personnel and an unprecedented amount of wealth and business under his control. Putin is deranged, and won't last, due to his health and the mindlessly executed war which was supposed to be a fast occupation. So, Xi it is! King of the world.

China not the same developing nation it was in 1989. Please stop referencing that.

Fascinating to see how this unfolds.

If anything this is more interesting than 89. It's not just a bunch of students in the capital, it's cutting across class and geography

In '89 it was also in every major city and not just students. There were also massacres in Shanghai and other cities.

Different from what was said earlier that they were blurring the crowds out. As the sports journalist in another twweet posted here said.

    - China TV pays for additional in stadium and on pitch camera feeds
    - Broadcasts are 30 second delayed in China
    - At most or all major events China TV avoids crowd shots as they tend to attract Tibet protestors
    - Does not seem much different here compared to previous years.
    - May be some mask less shots got through during ceremonies

    Look for this guy's tweets..
