Even locals often have no need to go to the Mainland. It is perfectly reasonable for many never to want to go over the boundary.

It is something you see everywhere and doesn't require hate. I spoke to an old lady in Hull who had never left the city. Not everyone has an expat's wanderlust.

Been already a few times since border opening. Any specific question?

Not too much change. You see more EVs now.

am thinking to visit guangzhou for 2-3 days over the holiday period - never been. train looks easy and fast and convenient. MO looks nice.

Otherwise, maybe 1 night 2 days in shenzhen staying at the MO in futian. Been once - was nice enough at the 4seasons for $1500 on a sat night.

    Thoughts?

I'm told that it takes quite a lot of time to complete immigration procedures in Hong Kong for visitors. The mainland part may also be time consuming. Immigration takes very long at Shanghai Pudong for example.

Went to shenzhen yesterday, took a full 45 mins for passport control at futian. Doesn't help when there's only 1 staff for foreigners & 20 ppl in the queue. Whereas for China passports there's 3 staff & each person takes around 20 seconds as they swipe the ID

I used to live in guangzhou & stayed in a different hotel every weekend. Just be aware of the metro when you're changing trains, like playing rugby at school again
