As a member of a jewish family, I'd rather people didn't goosestep anymore but that's apparently a thing now

A day later I have seen the same helmet.
It’s a fantasy product made in Thailand.
A SS helmet does not have anything but the SS emblem on it

Anyway, at some point you need to move on.
This is a pretty specious line of reasoning when there are still people alive in HK who were directly impacted by this.

Personally, it's far removed from me, but I have heard/read stories from people who were there at the time, and I would not tell them "but hey, it was ages ago, and since then they've given us Pokemon!"

Hardly anyone of the perpetrators are alive anymore, the current Japanese are in time as far removed from those days as you are to it.

The same goes for Europe and the Nazi’s. I don’t say we should ignore history and I clearly state it is offensive to glorify WW2 military action on both German and Japanese side. I acknowledge their war crimes. By moving on I was talking about moving on from hating everything German or Japanese, like traditional clothing or food for example. In Europe we still memorise and honour the Nazi victims and the allied fallen soldiers. But we move on in terms of contemporary relationships between our countries. But I understand Germany of today went through a catharsis and recognition of their heinous past, while Japan seems to fail to condemn or apologise for their crimes committed. Yet I still have the opinion moving on is the smart thing to do.
