Moodys to Staff - WFH Before Ratings Cut

The cadence of such news seems to be increasing.. or may be I have tol much time on my hands.

They didn’t give us the reason . . . but everyone knows why,” said one China-based Moody’s employee, referring to the request to work from home. “We are afraid of government inspections.”

The staff member said Moody’s also advised analysts in Hong Kong to temporarily avoid travel to the Chinese mainland ahead of the cut. The agency on Tuesday lowered the outlook for China’s A1 long-term local and foreign-currency issuer rating to negative from stable.

Meanwhile HK feels smeared and requests Moodys to downgrade the world

Speaking on a radio program this morning, the top government official said Moody's credit downgrade of Hong Kong is unjust, calling it an act to defame the city. He believes the agency, led by the United States, is attempting to undermine mainland China's development through Hong Kong.

[B]Chan also questioned the reason for Moody's credit downgrade of the city, saying the agency should also downgrade the rating of the world as many other countries have close economic ties with China.

That wonderful secretary Chan warned about "Western Thieves" as well. Surely will attract more of those to this newly best run city now...

This guy is just earning his pay.
Just look at real estate prices / transactions from commercial to residential, land sales by the government, for lease shops,...I even see Rolex sport watches in all AD. When was the last time one remembers seeing Submariners in store front?
Let's call a spade a spade, people are not stupid...in general.

I've been trying to work out who this new personality Ip is and why the 180 degree shift. Best I can come up with is that she has Liz Truss levels of ambition and self awareness, and had always thought shouting the party line would guarantee her the CE job eventually. Has recently had some feedback that independent thought is needed and is now overindexing the other way.

not denying the real estate and other business parts.. but i don't think the rolex you see at AD are for sale.. at least they are still putting up a show that those are display pieces only.

that said, rolex is just a game the AD play. too much dirts behind.

Look like the HK & China stock market, property prices for sale and rent both in the residential and commercial side, that is the true public’s perception of HK & China.

HK can easily instill confidence in the market by adjusting policies accordingly. The wait game causes harm to its people meanwhile the rest of the world will move on to something else.

I read Rizz is the Oxford English Dictionary word of the year and I had never heard it.

This leaves me similarly puzzled. What is AD? I assume a submariner is a watch not a seaman?
