Not surprised. It is on the rise at the moment and seems like there is an increase in flu from what some friends are mentioning.

With golden week visitors coming in and crowds going to China for their rotisserie chicken... lets see what next week or two turn into.

That's just messed up!

Although, COVID barely cramped my style, as we had very few cases in my state and fairly lenient restrictions. Pretty happy that we never considered living in, Sydney or Melbourne! My wife and I, for some reason never, caught COVID, but then again, I can count on one hand how many times I've caught the common cold and flu my entire life.

I'd be tipping that they're testing for something other than COVID under the guise of a COVID test.

I've had Covid again here in HK three weeks ago. Just because we pretend it's not a thing anymore (or it's never been a thing), it's still very much around and infecting people.
