    I saw some random headlines about this on góogle news and just assumed it was some viral clickbait thingy. Still don't think it's real.

    Anyways China and the US do not have an extradition treaty even if this went to a criminal trial.

    If you borrow money with the intention of not paying it back (the social media comment is evidence of intent) then it's a criminal matter but... No extradition treaty

    Looks a totally bogus story based on that article about a nameless person. No details about university attended, degree being studied, platform the message was uploaded to.

    They didn't even want to refer to the person as Chinese which was odd. I don't think a Chinese person would publicize such a thing and bring shame and embarrassment on family and country.
