Careful which EV brand you get

looks like the EV vendors in cn are overcrowded & now some are filling for bankruptcy, some just even months after opening

there was one live streamer doing a promo on this car & was told the company was going under while shew was streaming

looks like the subsidies are drying up

Ability and focus on possible warranty and maintenance is also an issue. Need to ensure or be confident that your vendor can service your car for it's anticipated life.

At the end of the day the cars are all proprietary beasts from software to hardware...

There's way way way too many startups, brands and different models to make money. Consolidation will happen soon and will be brutal. Handful of mega players will remain who will thwart anything Germany or Japan can muster (I don't even count the US anymore as a major export player going forward. Just focusing on US market in the future)

For a communist country, this is the most cut throat competition I’ve ever seen…

this is what Japanese gas cars, toyota specifically, are trying to to avoid the gov does!

    https://politiko.com.ph/2024/12/11/d...les/headlines/

Now here in the middle kingdom a 3 time fail OBD test on a gas car & it is considered junk! some are complaining that their car is just 5 years old & is still road worthy & those OBD error code are just minor glitch on some card. There are heaps of used gas cars here now & are sold mostly for exports in Middle east & Africa.

I think the govs push to go full EV is a premature move & would cause a huge backlash - do you guys know how much is it to replace an EV battery

The Shark ute is hugely anticipated in Australia, already named 2024 car of the year despite not even landing on our shores yet

Man, I really would prefer if we'd get fewer asshole cars on the road. There is no need for anyone to drive a car where the hood prevents you from seeing any kid running in front of your car. There is no need for the average person anywhere to drive a three ton vehicle.

I read something along the lines that there are less pedestrian (per head of population) accidents than ever before but more fatalities for those that do occur. Was in the US recently and some of the pick up trucks offer no escape, would be like a jaggy metal wall slamming into you. No hope of rolling onto the bonnet/hood. Just a full body (and head) impact.
