    This seems to be happening with increasing frequency. Briefly looked into it, repairs don’t seem to take too long in peacetime, so broadly I have imagined two ways this can serve a practical purpose.

    The first is as a drill/trial, see what the response is, and know potentially what/who to target to make repairs harder.

    The second is that replacement/repairs can potentially be compromised.

    More serious thinkers than I imo should be looking into it.
