    This headline sounds quite positive
3 out of 4 Chinese test kits in Danish study found to have 90 per cent accuracy rate

    3/4 * 0.90 = 67.5%

    It could of read
Only 67.5% of Chinese Covid Tests exported to Europe work

The raw probability of 67.5% is correct but that would be testing with known standard samples. You would be able to assess the kits with standard samples and find they were that 'accurate'. If used for clinical testing, they would be useless as you would not know if they worked or not!

Headline should read "Useless shit peddled to Europe"

I think they meant test kits from separate manufacturers though...

May I offer my services as a covid tester instead. I'll charge only half of what those tests cost and my results will be instant. 50% accuracy guaranteed.

Yesterday's incident regarding the police showing to Tai Koo Shing mall just because people were singing is rather hidden. You have to go to the HK version, then to dig into the politics section, because it's nowhere to be found in the frontpage. You have such important articles in the frontpage, such as suicide watch recommendations for the jobless, and love in the coronavirus world. But no mention to Tai Koo Shing.

While I agree that the US is fucked... this kind of headline from the scmp... It sounds a bit like they are too happy to announce that and guide their readers to think this way...

Intellectual dishonesty in this article followed by intellectual dishonesty in this forum. This research is valuable as one knows that test kits from the 3 suppliers are 90% accurate. It helps countries secure their supply chain.

As to the dishonesty in the article, the Czech tests were antibody test. Hospital staff used them to test for the wrong thing. The latter didn't make the headlines.
